AI auto-apply tools compared: what you really pay

Who wrote this
CoolMind wrote this article, and it makes the case for CoolMind. Everything said about another tool comes from that tool's own public pages (its website, help center, terms or App Store listing) as we read them on 2026-10-22, with a link for each. We did not sign up for or use them, and their prices change, so check each source before you decide. CoolMind is not affiliated with any company named here.
What CoolMind does for you
- You pay only when the employer confirms. One credit for each application the employer confirms receiving, on its confirmation page or in a confirmation email. An application that fails, is never sent, or that you stop costs nothing. Our price: from $0.30 to $1.00 per confirmed application, depending on the pack.
- No subscription. Credits come in one-time packs and nothing renews, so a month you don't apply costs nothing. Credits are valid for 180 days from when you get them.
- Fully automatic, nothing to install. CoolMind fills in and submits the employer's own application form in a browser in our cloud. Your computer can be off, and closing the page doesn't stop it.
- Sites that need an account, too. When an employer's site needs a candidate account, CoolMind creates one or signs in, with your application email and the one employer-site password you set.
- Several at once, day and night. Several applications go out at the same time, up to your daily allowance; the numbers are on How CoolMind works.
- Scored your way before anything is sent. Each job is scored against your résumé and preferences, with the reasons written out. On Full auto, only jobs at or above your minimum match score go out; on I'll review, nothing goes until you say yes.
- Watch it, and step in. You can watch an application being filled in live and take over, for example to finish a verification step.
- A receipt for each one. How we know the employer received it, by default a screenshot of the confirmation page and a recording of the whole application, and every answer and cover letter we wrote, exactly as sent.
- Your own address for applications. Applications give your own CoolMind address, which forwards everything employers send to your inbox, and from which CoolMind reads the verification codes sites email. Connecting Gmail instead is optional.
- Cover letters included. Where a form asks for a cover letter, CoolMind writes a short one for that job, at no extra charge.
- Made for Chinese-speaking job seekers. Set up in Chinese or English, with the assistant asking one question at a time for what your résumé left out; applications go out in English. If you need visa sponsorship, postings that say they won't sponsor are set aside, with the reason shown.
What an application costs, like for like
These are the services that, like CoolMind, fill in and submit the employer's own application form for you. To compare like with like, the table gives what each charges for the same number of applications, a hundred and five hundred, bought the cheapest way it sells them.
| Tool | How you pay | Price, as listed | A hundred applications | Five hundred applications | If one fails |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CoolMind | One-time packs, no subscription | from $0.30 to $1.00 per confirmed application, depending on the pack | $39.99 for 100 confirmed applications, $0.40 each | $149.99 for 500 confirmed applications, $0.30 each | Costs nothing |
| AIApply | Monthly or quarterly subscription, Premium separate | Auto Apply $49 a month for 100, $99 a month for 250, $199 a quarter for 750; Premium $29 a month | $49 for Auto Apply alone, $0.49 each; $78 with a month of Premium, $0.78 each | $199 for Auto Apply alone, $0.40 each; $286 with three months of Premium, $0.57 each | Uses no credit |
| ApplyPass | Monthly subscription | $99 a month for 100 a week, $199 a month for 400 a week | $99 for a month, $0.99 each | $199 for a month, $0.40 each | Not stated |
| Simplify (Autopilot) | Weekly, monthly or 3-month subscription, 20 credits a week | $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for 3 months | $59.98 for a month and a week, $0.60 each, over about five weeks | $179.98 for two 3-month plans, $0.36 each, over about six months | Uses no credit |
| Scale.jobs (people, not software) | One-time packages | $199 for 250, $299 for 500, up to $1,099 for 1,100 | $199, its smallest package of 250, $1.99 each | $299, $0.60 each | Not stated |
How the figures are worked out:
- AIApply: $49 ÷ 100 = $0.49, or with a $29 month of Premium, $78 ÷ 100 = $0.78; $199 ÷ 500 ≈ $0.40, or with three months of Premium, $286 ÷ 500 ≈ $0.57, the other 250 kept only while you stay subscribed. Premium, $29 a month or $144 a year, is a subscription of its own (AIApply on its free trial and plans), and AIApply's pages don't make clear whether Auto Apply can be bought without it. A tailored résumé and a tailored cover letter are $12 a month more, each. Its plans renew each month or quarter, and unused credits are lost when you cancel (AIApply on plans, credits and charges).
- ApplyPass: $99 ÷ 100 = $0.99. Its $99 plan allows about 433 in a month, short of 500, so 500 take the $199 plan: $199 ÷ 500 ≈ $0.40 (ApplyPass pricing).
- Simplify: 20 credits a week, so a hundred take about five weeks: a month ($39.99, about 86 credits) and a week ($19.99) is $59.98, about $0.60 each. Five hundred take 25 weeks: two 3-month plans, $179.98, about $0.36 each (Simplify on features and pricing).
- Scale.jobs: its smallest package is 250 for $199, so a hundred cost $199, $1.99 each; 500 cost $299, about $0.60 each (Scale.jobs pricing).
JobCopilot also applies for you automatically, on company career pages, but its pricing page can't be turned into a price per application: it caps job matches, not applications (up to 20 a day from $0.93 a day, up to 50 from $1.05), it gives only that starting daily price while saying weekly, monthly and quarterly plans exist, and other JobCopilot pages give other prices (JobCopilot pricing).
JobCopilot also says it applies only on career pages that don't require an account (JobCopilot FAQ). CoolMind applies on sites that do, creating the account or signing in for you.
Massive, Jobright and JobHire also apply for you, but their pages show no price we could tie to a number of applications, so they aren't in the table.
Why a subscription costs more than it looks
- You pay whether you apply or not. A subscription renews every week, month or quarter, so a week you spend interviewing costs the same as a busy one. With CoolMind, a week you don't apply costs nothing.
- A cap sets your pace. Simplify's twenty credits a week mean five hundred applications take about six months. CoolMind sends several at once, up to your daily allowance.
- Not every application goes through. Charged for time, a failed application still used what you paid. None of the subscription pages we read say what share of applications goes through; with CoolMind you only ever pay for the ones that did.
- Leftovers. AIApply's unused credits are lost when you cancel, and Simplify's don't carry over from week to week; CoolMind's stay valid for 180 days whether or not you buy again.
Tools that count something else
Two well-known tools aren't in the table, because what they count as an application is a different thing:
- LazyApply is a browser extension: it works from your own browser, and says it applies automatically on platforms such as Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter (LazyApply). Its plans are $99, $149 or $999 a year for up to 15, 150 or 1,500 applications a day, billed yearly (LazyApply FAQ). Its pages don't say whether a failed application counts.
- LoopCV scans job boards and counts applications and emails against one monthly allowance, so an email to a recruiter counts the same as an application: $19.99 a month for 100, $59.99 for 300, and a free plan of 10 (LoopCV plans).
